Why Negative Energy Isn’t the Enemy and How to Shift It

Let’s be honest.


We all experience negative energy. Whether it is from a stressful conversation, a draining workplace, or just waking up feeling off for no reason, that heaviness can settle into the body and the heart quickly.


But here is the truth I have learned through years of spirit work.Negative energy is not something to fear. It is not a sign that you are broken.It is not the enemy.

It is information.


Every feeling you have carries a message. The hard ones—the irritability, the heaviness, the grief, the tension—those are signals that something needs attention. Something needs your care.


Too often we try to ignore or fight our way out of those states. We push through. We numb. We tell ourselves to stop being sensitive. But energy does not just disappear. It stores itself in the body. It builds. And eventually, it speaks louder.


What if instead of fighting your negative energy, you paused and listened?What if you treated it like a visitor, not a threat?


Next time you feel stuck in a heavy emotion, try this:


1. Name It Without Judgment

Instead of saying, “I feel awful,” say, “I feel sadness,” or “I feel anger.” Naming it creates space. It lets the feeling know you see it without letting it take over the whole room.


2. Move Your Body Gently

Energy needs motion. Stretch. Shake out your arms. Take a slow walk. Even five minutes of gentle movement can help your nervous system reset.


3. Speak to It Like a Child

Ask, “What do you need?” or “What are you trying to tell me?” Sometimes the energy is pointing to a wound or a truth you have been avoiding. Sometimes it just needs you to slow down.


4. Use the Tools You Trust

This might mean holding a crystal that brings comfort, lighting a candle, writing a few lines in a journal, or taking a salt bath. These are not just rituals. They are acts of acknowledgment. They say, “I hear you. I am taking care of this.”


5. Let It Pass Without a Story

You do not need to attach a narrative to every low day. Not every feeling means something is wrong. Energy moves like weather. The sun comes back. It always does.


You are not a bad person for having bad days. You are not failing because you feel heavy. You are human. And you are sensitive in the best possible way.


Negative energy does not make you weak. Learning how to work with it makes you powerful.
